For our fourth film of Foreign Film Month, we watched Conor’s pick, the 1958 jidaigeki adventure film Hidden Fortress. Directed by Akira Kurosawa, the story takes place in feudal Japan during a war of two clans. General
Makabe Rokurōta attempts to smuggle heir to the Akizuki throne, Princess Yuki through enemy territory. All the while two greedy peasants,
Tahei and Matashichi, try and get some money out of them.
