#61: That Time We Talked About Dr. Strangelove
In our 61st episode we watched the 1964 classic Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb directed by Stanley Kubrick. The story concerns an unhinged USAF general who orders a nuclear attack on the Soviet Union. It follows the President of the United States, his advisors, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and a Royal Air Force officer as they try to recall the bombers to prevent a nuclear apocalypse. It separately follows the crew of one B-52 bomber as they try to deliver their payload. We do talk about the film but we also go on a lot of tangents that deal with the Cold War and different types of political drama. Join us as we discuss this great classic.
